Aethiomastacembelus sp."rosette" is mainly living in intermediate zones from rocks to sand. They can be found along rocky coasts and also around the islands and reefs in front of the coast, probably around entire Lake Malawi.  When you want to keep these animals you need to give them a really large aquarium because of the size it reaches, in the lake this species can grow to about 30 cm. It's also necessary to cover this tank, it seems that they sometimes want to leave their environment. In general they are tolerant against other large inhabitants. Probably they are feeding themselves with invertebrates and little fish.  |
